Weddings
Every marriage deserves its own fairy-tale beginning. For many people, the church or registry office ceremony can be seen as the "boring bit": something that needs to be done before the real celebrating starts. From day one, I will work with you to make your wedding uniquely memorable and as warm and genuine as your love story.
I will start by listening. What do you want your wedding to be like? Imagine the best bits you've seen in all the weddings you've attended - together we can shape them into your perfect day. There are no rules or constraints! You decide the shape of the ceremony and the wording of the vows and script.

But you don't need to be worried if it feels overwheleming or you're unsure; I can guide you through the whole process to make sure your day is perfect and just as you want it. I’ll ensure your day is filled with laughter, love, and just the right amount of magic and happy tears. Think of me as your ceremony’s best friend—here to support you, guide you, and make sure your day is as beautiful as the love you share. Your ceremony will be a one-of-a-kind, heartfelt creation, written from scratch to reflect your personalities and vision, creating a joyful, unforgettable start to your next chapter. So let's throw out the script, get creative, and design a celebration that proves the best moments in life are the ones we truly make our own. Unlike some church leaders who may hold more than one event in their church, I will only ever undertake YOUR wedding on your big day. There’s no rush, no pressure, no constraints. Your ceremony is your design so it can be outside, inside, bright and colourful or traditional and formal. Fundamentally, it’s however you want it to be!

“Unlike religious officiants or registrars, independent celebrants offer maximum flexibility, allowing couples to create unique ceremonies without being bound by statutory, religious, or doctrinal constraints.”

The Legal Bit
In the UK, a couple can only be legally wed by a religious leader or government appointed registrar and only in certain locations. BUT that’s just the essential legal bit of the wedding and it only requires the couple and two witnesses to be present.
This legal bit can take place with a registrar at a registry office or, by agreement, they can undertake the legalities in an approved wedding venue. Couples might choose the legal bit on the day(s) before or after their wedding or it may be possible for the registrar to attend the (approved) venue to do their bit before or even during the wedding service.
The ‘ceremony’ where rings and vows are exchanged, witnessed by as many friends and family as you wish can take place anywhere, at any time and can involve anything you want.
As well as guiding you through the legal requirements, I can help you to plan your bespoke wedding around the legalities.
